PJ's Produce is family owned and micro operated. They put the utmost care into their crops each season and pay special attention to each plant as it grows from a seedling up until the time it is ready to harvest.

One of the newest additions to their varieties of produce available at the Jerome Farmers Market are their sweet and delicious strawberries. If you were lucky enough to buy their strawberries last Saturday we here at the Jerome Farmers Market would like to offer you a wonderful Summer recipe. MASON JAR STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE TRIFLES

MAKES 4 SERVINGS

Ingredients

1 c. heavy cream

1 tbsp. sugar

1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

3 c. chopped pound cake or angel food cake

2 c. sliced or chopped strawberries

Directions

In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat cream and sugar until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes. Stir in vanilla until combined. Transfer mixture to a piping bag.

Among four glass jars, layer pound cake or angel food cake, whipped cream mixture and strawberries.

2017 Jerome Farmers Market Wrap up

Now that the 2017 Jerome Farmers Market is officially at an end, we want to express our thanks to the wonderful patrons of this past season. Your loyalty and generosity and encouragement have helped us through another year. When we leave the market at the end of the day, we feel absolute joy, and hope you have enjoyed yourselves as well. It’s wonderful to be a part of this “Feel Good” operation.

We are busily putting the gardens to bed. Before we finish however, we are privileged to thank the following businesses who were so generous with their donations for the Harvest Festival this year:

Our models for the gorgeous posters were Ana Gerstner, Yasmine Arrington, Dillon Schvanaveldt, & Sara & Spencer Cowan. Brooke Bartholomew was the designer with Lorna Irwin as photographer. It takes a village to help one another and that is what we had.

Monies were raised for CASA, Valley House and GED Scholarships.

We thank the people of this valley and all around for their support and joyful gifts. We wish you all a joyous holiday season….being grateful for all we share…enjoying where we live and counting our blessings. We look forward to seeing you the first weekend in June in 2018.
