This Saturday marks the last Farmers Market of the 2025 season, and we’re going out with a bang!
Look to the north of the greenhouse and you’ll find us surrounded by tons of pumpkins, squash, potatoes, apples, onions, and more. Inside and outside the greenhouse, you’ll discover incredible vendors, dragons, food, and fun waiting for you.

Take a photo with the Beauxbaton carriage, troll, and Hogwarts house backdrops, then wander through rows of creative vendors offering handmade and homegrown treasures.

Here’s what’s happening throughout the day:
9:00 AM – Doors open! The first prize of the day goes to the person who correctly answers all four Yule Ball trivia questions. (Question #4: What color robes does Professor McGonagall wear to the Yule Ball?)
10:00 AM – Ballroom dance instruction with fun, prizes, and laughter
11:00 AM – Costume judging
12:30 PM – Fudge registration
1:00 PM – Fudge judging with Cornelius Fudge – The Fudge Judge presenting the prestigious award!

Don’t forget to enter your name in the Goblet of Fire for prize drawings every half hour.

The market runs from 9 AM to 3 PM at Moss Greenhouse and promises to be a gorgeous, memory-filled day. Grab a butterbeer, update your wand, and bring the whole family—entrance is free!

Thank you for an incredible year at the Jerome Farmers Market! We’re so grateful for our vendors, patrons, and community who make every Saturday magical. See you in 2026!

COATS, COURAGE, AND COMFORT FOOD

The Jerome Farmers Market has the most faithful, courageous, and incredible vendors and patrons. Rain, shine, or wind — they show up! This week may be a little coat-worthy, but you can bet we’ll be there bringing all the cozy fall favorites.

Once again, it’s comfort food season — think homemade breads, crisp apples, hearty squash, and pumpkins galore. If you’re looking for fresh farm eggs, we have those too. After all, it’s fall, right?

This is our second-to-last week before the Hogwarts Yule Ball Harvest Festival! Question #3 for this week’s challenge is:

“Mr. Crouch, the Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, didn’t make it to the Yule Ball. Who is there instead representing him?”

Be the first to answer all four questions correctly at 9 AM to win a Trader Joe’s Gift Bag full of goodies and treasures!

Don’t forget the Fudge Competition at 1:00 PM — bring your best creation and you could win big!

We’re open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (weather permitting) and located at Moss Greenhouses, 269 South 300 East, Jerome.

Bundle up, grab a warm drink, and come enjoy the market — we’ll see you in a few days!

 WELCOME TO OCTOBER!

Only 3 more Farmers Markets remain this season. It’s going to be cooler on Saturday, so we’re bringing comfort food to warm your heart and your table: russet potatoes, onions, apples, pumpkins, peppers, and so much more.

Since the Hogwarts Yule Ball is coming quickly on the 18th, here is Question #2 for the Trader Joe’s Gift Bag:
“Who is Fleur Delacour’s date for the Yule Ball? And what was he known for?”
Be the first to answer all 4 questions correctly at 9 AM to win!

We’ve also added a Fudge Contest! Bring your best creation of any kind of fudge at 12:30 for judging at 1:00 by none other than Cornelius Fudge… the Fudge Judge! The best entry will win a $100 bill. Any flavor—nuts or no nuts—will be considered.

It’s going to be a fun event for the whole family. Our vendors are working hard to make this a memorable fall for you.

HOUSEKEEPING-2025

HB144-Small Sellers Exemption

As of yesterday, I visited the State of Idaho Tax Commission office in Twin Falls and learned the following. Gov Brad Little is signing into law effectively July 1, 2025 that small farmers market businesses cumulative gross receipts from sales not exceeding $5,000 in the current or previous calendar year do not have to collect or remit Idaho sales or use tax.

Because many markets are starting before that date, the tax change includes markets predating the July 1st date.

If annual sales exceed $3,000, sellers must keep sales records for at least 4 years.

Small sellers are still required to file individual Idaho income tax returns if they meet state filing requirements under Section 63-3030, Idaho Code.

Business entities: partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies (LLCs) do not qualify.

Exceeding the $5,000 Threshold: if gross receipts surpass $5,000:

Apply for a temporary seller’s permit within 30 days or

Become a registered retailer by obtaining an Idaho Seller’s Permit

Begin collecting and remitting sales & use tax.

If you are above the limit and need to register with our farmers market, I have registered it with the state tax commission and you can go to tax.idaho.gov/gototap

to register and can call me at (208)731-8394 for the Event ID number. That needs to be done prior to the market opening date on June 7th. We look forward to seeing you and are pleased with this bit of help for our smaller vendors.  Have a SUPER week!  Kathy

by Ana Harrop, April 08, 2025

Welcome to Spring! The days are getting softer, flowers are beginning to bloom and apricot trees send out the intoxicating sweetness accompanied by the humming of the bees. To walk into any greenhouse you can enjoy the delightful smells of beautiful flowers. It lightens the heart and brings untold joy. The smell of freshly turned soil and the beginning of cut grass truly smells heavenly.

The Jerome Farmers Market at Moss Greenhouses will begin in a very short time. The grounds are prepped and planting will begin in earnest this week and next. It’s a good hard work after a cold stagnating winter. Muscles get tired, but accomplishment feels good.

The vendors are coming forward, working hard to get ready and as always, there are always new additions to each year. From now to opening day, we will recognize vendors, introduce you to them and showcase our wonderful sponsors.

So many really fine people come together to bring this activity to our area and hundreds of hours are worked harmoniously to make this such a very excellent place to be on Saturday mornings. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 7th for our opening day. It will do your heart good to sample fine products, take home healthy food, and visit with old friends.
